She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Cook and Mary Burch Cook; her husband George Dorsey Nelms; and her sisters, Jessie Bell Gilliard, Jean Speckert, Clarice Gilliard and Angie Lyons.
She is survived by: her daughter Marie Lindsey of Nashville; her grandchildren, Shannon Lindsey of Nashville, Steve Lindsey of Nashville and Shawn Lindsey (Laura) of Nashville; her great grandchildren, Michael Lindsey, Meagan Lindsey, Sage Lindsey, Kirstin Shivers and Beau Lindsey; and her sister Janice Sayyah of Nashville.
Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
