She was predeceased by: her parents, Talford Horace Highsmith and Clara Jane Woodard Highsmith; her husband James O. "Jay" Johns; her grandson Barrett Johns; her great grandchild Bowen Wainright; and her brother Byron C. "Buddy" Highsmith.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Jacobs (Alec) of Hoboken, Jeffrey A. Johns (Judy Musgrove) of Nahunta and Gregory S. Johns (Joan F.) of Hernando, FL; her grandchildren, Trent Jacobs, Alecia Jacobs, Amanda Phillips, Torie Wainright, Jay Johns and Jeremy Johns; and her great grandchildren, Stella Wainright, Eli Wainright and Jameson Phillips.
