It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Marie Smith Lasseter of Moultrie, Georgia, born in Nashville, Georgia, who passed away on September 24, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry R. J. Smith and Iola Gordon Smith; her daughter Angela "Angie" Bishop; her grandsons, Jonathan Carroll and Jared Carroll; and her brothers, Jimmy Smith and Sonny Wilson of Moultrie.

She is survived by: her great grandchildren, Amalachi Carter, Austin Craven, Blake Lasseter, Chad Lasseter, Ashley Perez-Carter, Shaun Berry and Daniel Carroll; her children, Jeanie Merritt (Jackie) of Moultrie, Stevie Carroll (Melissa) of Moultrie, Tammy Carter of Moultrie, Timothy Carroll (Cindy) of Albuquerque, NM and Fred Duain Lasseter, Jr. (Terri) of Funston; her grandchildren, Jeremy Merritt (Tramese), Jessica Smith (C. J.), Justin Carroll, Brittany Carroll, Ashley Perez-Carter (Juan), Audrea Brightwell (Alan), Amber Carter, Blanche Berry (Shaun), Daniel Carroll (Shannon), Chad Lasseter (Desiree), Blake Lasseter, Terron Lasseter (Dalton) and Alex Merritt; her siblings, Robbie Hancock (Bill) of Moultrie, Ray Smith (Betty) of Mineral, VA, Mildred Wilson, Mary Carpenter (Walter), Hazel Truluck (Buddy), Charlie Lasseter (Linda) and Alice Chitty (Larry); and her friend Faye Spoles.
