He was predeceased by: his parents, James Luther Sloan and Lucy Lena Carr Sloan; his daughters, Deborah Crooms and Barbara Jean Sloan; and his siblings, Sarah Horne, Shirley Ann Felder, Lucy Mae Alford, Emmie Lee Reed, James Luther Sloan and James Shelton Sloan.
He is survived by: his son Walter Sloan, Jr. (Paula) of Milledgeville; his grandchildren, Tiffany Freeman (Daniel) of Milledgeville and Walter Neal Sloan; his great grandchildren, Kameron Freeman, Cali Rose and Ryleigh Grace; and his sisters, Rosa Lee McCant and Martha Garner.
