She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. H. E. and Lenora Rogers; her former husband Mercer Eugene Byrd; her husband John R. Murphy; and her son Dwight Slade Byrd.

She is survived by: her children, Eddie Byrd (Lu) of Lake Oconee and Nancy Buchanan (Tonny) of Milledgeville; her daughter-in-law Britt Owen Byrd of Milledgeville; her grandchildren, Ryan Frier of Milledgeville, Justin Seymour of Milledgeville, Cory Seymour (Kathryn) of Madison, Adam Buchanan (Marissa) of Knoxville, TN, Paige Buchanan of Clanton, AL, Whitney Joris Whitlock (Ben) of Charlotte, NC and Maggie Joris Wiles (John) of Atlanta; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Frier, Jenna Seymour, Corbin Seymour, Eliza Kate Seymour, Lydia Buchanan, Eva Buchanan, Smith, Lily Whitlock and Louise Wiles; and her sister Bobbie Jean Harlow.
