He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Weldon Brookins, Charlie and Bernice Meridth; his mother-in-law Wanda Smith; and his grandmother-in-law Roy Medlin.
He is survived by: his wife Michelle Smith Brookins; his son Corey Brookins; his sister Christina Ritzema (Justin) of Richmond Hill; his parents, Patricia Kitchens (Johnny) and Donald Brookins (Colleen) of Milledgeville; his grandmother Estelle Lorraine Brookins; his grandfather-in-law Jennie Medlin; his aunts, Karen Wright (Tim), Judy Weaver (Joe), Nancy Thomas (Dan) and Renee Gant (Chuck); his uncle David Brookins (Helen); and his parents-in-law, Johnie, Amy, Sam Flury, Shannon, Tina Smith, Jay and Angie Smith. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
