He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Edward (Bubba) and Mildred Annette Johnson Bonner; his wife Jennifer Lynn Brookins Bonner; his brother James Eddie Bonner; his daughter Shannon Bonner of Sparta; his siblings-in-law, Cynthia Brookins Lindsey of Athens, Denise Brookins Garner (James) of Harrison, Joseph Brookins (Carol) of Milledgeville, John Brookins of Milledgeville and Phillip Brookins of Milledgeville; his uncle Marion Bonner; and his cousin Barry Bonner of Milledgeville. He was also cherished by loving nieces, nephews, along with great nieces and nephews.
