He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Coroner Randy Simpson and Brenda Simpson; and also Randy Simpson, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Elaine Simpson Gauthier of Loganville, GA; his stepmother Roberta Gauthier of Jefferson, GA; his brothers, Matt Gauthier of Jefferson, GA and Tyler Gauthier (Amber) of Jefferson, GA; his girlfriend Iris Yarc of Snellville, GA; his aunts, Rita Simpson Hemmings of Snellville, GA and Sharon Simpson of Athens, GA; his cousins, Joshua Hemmings of Snellville, GA and Grace Hemmings of Snellville, GA; and his family Lifelink of Georgia. He is also survived by family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with Joey's services.
