He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henton and Erie Day Coon; his siblings, Donald, Jerri, John and Margaret; and his former wife Margarette Reece Coon.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his son Eddie; his daughter-in-law Caroline Coon of Tucker, GA; his son Steve; his daughter-in-law Jodi Coon of Loganville, GA; his son Alan; his daughter-in-law Linda Coon of Braselton, GA.; his grandchildren, Jennie Shaw, Rebecca Smith, Aubree Kimmons, Andi Coon, Renee Carter, Joseph Coon III, Jonathan Coon, Brian Coon, Brooky Coon, Katie Coon and Brittney Ruff; and his great grandchildren, Vash Shaw, Knox Smith and Lively Jean Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund at Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford, GA.
