He is survived by: his friends, Gordon, Jr. and Uncle JuneJune; his spouse Evelyn Collins Herndon; his daughter Launa Herndon Williams (Edwin Williams) of Winston; his son-in-law Jeffery R. Edge of White; his grandchildren, Emily Williams Wood (Brian Wood) of Moultrie, Benjamin Edison Williams (Leah Corley Williams) of Statesboro, Zachary Franklin Williams (Emily Moore Williams) of Franklin and James Preston Edge (Dana Mittag Edge) of Charlotte; his great grandchild John Emerson Wood; his siblings, Exelle Herndon Chambers of Macon and James Marion Herndon of Seminole; and his sisters-in-law, Faye Fussell Herndon of Hernando and Sara Collins Williams of Danville. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Lizella, GA- John Gordon Herndon, Jr., of Lizella, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at the age of 90 after battling the effects of Alzheimer's and lung cancer for several years.
