She was predeceased by: her parents, Vaughn Brown and Etna Brown; her husband James Ray Swanson; her daughter Angela Swanson Fielding; her grandson Joshua Andrew Fielding; her son-in-law Peter Charles Knapp; and her siblings, Lassie Brown, Hubbie Henson, Betty Maney and Robert Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Cathy Swanson Knapp of Marietta, GA, Jerry Dale Swanson (Tammy) of Dacula, GA and David Ray Swanson (Sherry) of Hoschton, GA; and her sister Faye Dotson of Cornelia, GA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
