He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Franklin Whiting and Sarah Herring Whiting Jernigan; his stepfather Richard Jernigan; and his brother Raymond Whiting. He is survived by: his wife Vivian Maxwell Whiting; his children, Jason Whiting (Denise Standridge) of Lavonia, GA, Natasha Whiting of Lavonia, GA, Sara Whiting-King (Shaun King) of Lavonia, GA., Emerald Weldon of Royston, GA and Kaela Burns of Carnesville, GA.; his grandchildren, JP Whiting (Erica Whiting), Gracie Noonan (Christian Fortson), Jade Whiting, Bella Noonan, Sam Johnson, Donovan Whiting, Jasmyn Ventura, Jasper Ventura and Jessica Lowery; his great grandchildren, Alton Whelchel and Anastasia Whiting; and his sister Kathy Whiting Ansley (Bryan Ansley) of Toccoa, GA..
