She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Smith and Belle Turpin Smith. She is survived by: her husband Lon Cothran, Sr. of Lavonia; her children, Sheila Hopper (C. J.) of Tennessee, Roger Cothran (Carolyn) of Gainesville, Terry Cothran (Holly) of Loganville, Lonnie Cothran (Connie) of Lavonia and David Cothran of Gainesville; and her brother David Smith of Gainesville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.
