He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude B. Alewine and Noble Weaver Alewine; his wife Virginia Pruitt Alewine; and his brothers, Max Alewine, Lucius Alewine and Oren Alewine.
He is survived by: his children, Jim Alewine and Gail Todd; his siblings, Charles Alewine of Harvey, C. B. Alewine and Julia Herring; his sister-in-law Helen Alewine of Commerce; his grandchildren, Mindy D'Agostino, John, Lee Todd, Susan, Chris Alewine, Holly Worley, Jill Worley and Judd; and his great grandchildren, Ashlee, Travis, Trevor, Kaylee, Trent Todd, Olivia D'Agostino, Michael D'Agostino, Carson Worley, Easton Worley, Evan Alewine and Olivia Alewine.
