He is survived by: his wife Theresa Gardner Burnes of Lakemont; his sister Hallie Burnes Ellerbee; his siblings-in-law, Corkey Ellerbee of Milledgeville and Lathia Reynolds of Covington, GA; his daughter JaCee Marie Burnes Trpik; his son-in-law Joseph R. Trpik Jr. of Chicago, IL; his son Brannon Gardner Burnes; his daughter-in-law Summer Lea Burnes of Sylva, NC; and his grandchildren, Autumn Marie Burnes, Robert Gardner Burnes and Emma Lea Burnes of Sylva, NC..
