She was predeceased by: her parents, Booker T. Whatley and Frances Whatley Lett; her daughter Willa Hightower Williams; and her siblings, Booker T. Whatley, Jr., Mable Hightower and Mary Earl Tucker.
She is survived by: her daughters, Irma Jean Tucker and Shirley Dunlap; and her grandchildren, Angela Tucker (Willie), Christopher Tucker (Jacci), Charlotte Dunlap (Charles), Ernest Dunlap, Jr., Michael Dunlap (Mandi), April Lawson and Greg Williams (KillyAnn). She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
