She was predeceased by: her parents, William Hoke Smith and Emma Hamlin Smith; and her son Bryan Shane Patterson. She is survived by: her husband Gene Patterson of Knoxville; her children, Shaun Patterson of Knoxville and Valerie Vinson of Columbus; her grandson Vince Vinson of Knoxville; and her sisters, Sue Walton (Mike) of Knoxville and Cynthia Boland (Charles) of Milledgeville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
