She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Joseph Mitchell and Sadie Dupree Mitchell; and her husband Virgil Lamar Merritt. She is survived by: her daughters, Cindy Simmons and Melissa Merritt. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
