He is survived by: his mother Rosalyn Shirlene Jacobs Thornton of Waynesville; his children, Redick Aaron Thornton, IIII (Martha) of Alabama, Robbie LeRoy Thornton (Jennifer) of Forsyth, Stephen Michael Thornton (Rita) of Hephzibah, Shannon Carmelita Newman (Steven) of Blackshear and Katrina Nicole Thornton (David) of McIntosh; his grandchildren, Da'sha Dean, Kailey Pierce, Lance Rowland, Trevor Jones, Justin Thornton, Jonathan Thornton, Aaron Kyler Thornton, Ansley Criswell, Robert Owen Thornton, Emily Thornton, Stephenie Michel Thornton, Stephen Michael Thornton, II, Christopher Meders, Jr., Damien Dacres, Ashley Meders and Alexis Morgan; his great grandchildren, Aria Jones, Jace Jones, Macee Jill Thornton, Ryder, Coen, Kyler Pierce, Justin and Savannah Dean; and his brothers, Joey Thornton (Melinda) of Waynesville and Allen Thornton (Shannon) of Waynesville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews other relatives, and a host of friends.
