He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Roberta Williams; his children, Kathy Jones-Smith (Reginald), Melvin Williams Jr. (Lillian), Nancy Williams and Indira Armstrong; and his siblings, Rena Davis, Robert Williams (Annie), Willie Mae Williams and Alberta Williams. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
