He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Newman and Mildred Newman; his brother Theo Newman; and his stepbrothers, James Newman, Harold Newman, Billy Newman, Lamar Newman and Ray Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Brucksyne Mixon Newman of Hawkinsville, GA; his children, Shea Newman (Lindsay) of Hawkinsville, GA, Monica Peavy of Macon, GA, Mia Edwards (Rawls) of Macon, GA and Bridgit Newman of Hawkinsville, GA; his sisters, Helen Smith (Ellis) of Saint Simons Island, GA, Doris Scarborough (Dickie) of Valdosta, GA, Joan Simmons (Wayne) of Hawkinsville, GA and Laurie Mincey of Hawkinsville, GA; his grandchildren, Chandler Schindler (Josh), Landri Edwards, Addisyn Newman and Dylan Barfield; and his pets, Lily, Sassy and Francine.
