He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Barnett and Marilyn Barnett. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Barnett; his children, Michael Payne and Erin Caskey; his stepson John Porter; and his siblings, Grady, Lisa Barnett, Jr., Patrick, Lynice Barnett, Diane Selph, Irish Jo and Jim Gandy. He is also survived by six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
