He was predeceased by: his parents, Craig Shahan and Fannie Jewel Shahan; his son-in-law Mike Trammell; his siblings, Clara Lee, Nell Kay, James Craig Shahan Jr. and Bernard Hap Shahan; and his niece Debbie Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Shahan; his children, Cynthia Trammell of Villanow, Cathy (Greg Lawson), Rick (Elaine Huggins) and Micheal (Rhonda Shahan); his sister Doris McClendon of Rome; his grandchildren, Christopher Lawson, Christina Lawson, Zachary Shahan, Angela Joyce, Miranda Oxford and David Oxford; and his great grandchildren, Skylar Oxford, Tyler, Hannah Clayton, Maddie Clayton and Zeklan Shahan.
