It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Barnes (Gainesville, Georgia), born in Dawsonville, Georgia, who passed away on June 9, 2019, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Bruce and Etta Bruce; her husband Don Talmadge Barnes, Sr.; her brothers, James C. Bruce, Walter Bruce and Myron Bruce; her aunts and uncles, Pearl Nix, Alene Owen, Frederick Conner, Robert Conner, Ulys Conner, Felton Conner and Clifton Conner; and her great grandchild Madeline Hope Cox.
She is survived by: her son Don T. Barnes, Jr; her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Norment Barnes; her granddaughter Amanda Cox (Lt); and her great grandchildren, Conner Cox, Lucy Grace Cox and Owen Cox.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to Lakewood Baptist Church in honor of Maxine Barnes.
