It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edisu Pitchford Smith of Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away on September 21, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Barto and Idell Haynes Pitchford; her sister Lois Nix; and her former husband Boyd Smith. She is survived by: her daughters, Margaret Renée Smith Carnes (Randy) of Gaffney, SC, Debra Denise "Dede" Smith Martin (Gary) of Oakwood and Lesha Sue Smith Whorton (Judson Alan) of Hermitage, TN; her grandchildren, Alex Martin, Justin Carnes, Jacob Martin, Jessica Carnes and Claire Whorton; and her great grandchildren, Amelia Martin and Hudson Martin.
