Bettie Fisher Chambers Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettie Fisher Chambers of Funston, Georgia, born in Moultrie, Georgia, who passed away on December 28, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Vaughn B. Fisher, Sr. and Maude Barnwell Fisher; her former husband Edward Sidney "Dick" Chambers, Sr.; her daughter Sue Blanton; and her siblings, John B. Fisher, Vaughn B. "Bud" Fisher, Janiece Bass, Carolyn Fisher, Mildred Fisher and Mary Hornsby.
She is survived by: her grandsons, Sam Chambers and Brandon Gates; her husband Mayor Dick Chambers; her son Sid Chambers (Terry) of Durham, NC; her grandchildren, Scott Chambers (Gina) of Tifton, Brooke Gates of Columbus, GA, Brad Blanton (Lia) of Wellington, FL, Ben Blanton (Samantha) of Powell, OH, Jeff Blanton (Ana) of Millington, TN, Zachary Chambers (Amanda) of Charlotte, NC and Andrew Chambers (Brooke) of Philadelphia, PA; her great grandchildren, Caroline VanArsdale (Clay), Sam Chambers, Anna Catherine Gates, Brandon Gates, Emily Blanton, Victoria Blanton, Bradley Blanton, Lincoln Blanton and Blair Blanton; and her stepgreat-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Salter, Emily Salter and Lorena Barhite. She is also survived by sister-in-law; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are recommended.
