With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary McLanahan McGinty of Elberton, Georgia, who passed away on September 9, 2023 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Pope McLanahan and Ruth Lillian Acker McLanahan; and her former husbands, Thomas Nelson Colley, Jr. and Joseph Benjamin McGinty, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Margaret Colley Hart (Jeff) of Flowery Branch and Thomas William "Bill" Colley of Atlanta; her grandchildren, John Thomas "Tommy" Hart (Kim Mercer), Heather Alannah Yearwood (Tyler), Elizabeth Erin Craig (Steven) and Justin Noel Colley (Leslie); her great grandchildren, Makenzie Mercer, Madelyn Mercer, Jordan Craig and Jake Craig; her sister Clara Jean Wheeler of Concord; her nieces, Lois Wheeler Morris and Julia Wheeler; and her great-nieces, Julia Poplin (Cody) and Katie Morris.
