He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Benshoof and Florence Benshoof; and his brother Max. He is survived by: his wife Helen Benshoof; his children, Cynthia Smith (Jeff) and Brucie Hooper (Don); his grandchildren, Justin (Shannon), Casey, Ashley, Cameron and Jennifer; and his siblings, Ted and Barbara. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Eatonton Endowment, where Dan served as a faithful Deacon.
