He was predeceased by: his parents, Aulton Charles Patterson, Sr. and Mary Ellen McMillan Patterson; and his brother Alfred Vernon "Red" Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Martha Callaway Patterson of Eatonton; his daughters, Patricia (Joseph Shea), Linda (Stuart Smith), Kerry (Wayne Jenkins) and Sherry (Steve Stivarius); his grandsons, Charles and Daniel Shea; his sister Mary Patterson Swords; his nephew Ray Swords; and his niece Shelly Swords Shelnutt.
