He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Hurst and Vester Jones; his wife Addnetta Hurst; his brother Albert Miller; his son K. Wong Hurst; and his grandson Keenan Guice.
He is survived by: his children, Mack S. Hurst, Jo'Nathan Hurst, Ray A. Hurst (Tasha), Kenneth Hurst, Stephen Strickland, Tavis Davis, Dorothy Hurst and Tresa Bryan (O'Neil).
