It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Elizabeth (Curley) Benson in Dunwoody, Georgia, born in Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on September 11, 2021, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeremiah Curley and Elizabeth Curley; and her brother Jerry "Sonny" Curley. She is survived by: her husband Roland Adair Benson of Dacula, GA; her sons, Craig Benson (Debbie) of Ellenwood, GA and Alan Benson (Joni) of Suwanee, GA; her great grandchildren, Matthew Benson (Emily), Ezra, Micah of Dacula, GA, Caroline Benson of Chapel Hill, NC, Cory Benson (Hannah) of Suwanee, GA and Cameron Benson of Ellenwood, GA; her brother-in-law Harold Benson (Carolyn) of Friendswood, TX; her nephew Edwin Benson (Kathy); and her niece Diane Malkin (Reed) of Memphis, TN.. She is also survived by wife and a mother to her two sons as well as a grandmother and great-grandmother.
