He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Jefferson and Dorothy Chapman Melton. He is survived by: his daughter Rachel Melton-Wigley (David) of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Victoria Elizabeth of Raleigh, NC and Preston Jeff of Chattanooga, TN; and his siblings, Nancy Hawkins (Doug) of Social Circle, GA and Wayne Melton (Rebecca) of Alpharetta, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
