He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Edward F. Carter Jr. and Ruth Chastain Carter of Tampa. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Adams-Carter; his daughter Heather Thornburg (Randy); his granddaughter Ava Thornburg; his siblings, Brency Grabowski (Bill), Betty Gazaway and Ren Carter (David); and his caregivers, Anna, Hannah, Ike, James, Alex and Kemi. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
