He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Phillips and Effie Bonnett Phillips; his wife Connie Pope Phillips; his daughter Kathleen Tracy; and his siblings, Harold Phillips, Jack Phillips, Sam Phillips and Rebecca Phillips.

He is survived by: his children, Charles Phillips (Pam) and Susan Phillips; and his sisters, Dorothy Phillips and Mary Carolyn Storey. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
