He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Holmes and Georgia Holmes; and his siblings, Bobby Holmes, Jerry Holmes, Eugene Holmes, Marion Holmes, Virginia Rice and Faye Robinson.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Holmes; his daughter Diane Holder (Jeff); his sister Carol Mcgahee; his grandchildren, Stephanie Holder, Dane Holder (Nicole) and Travis Holder; his great grandchildren, Aria, Alivia and Everett; and his great great grandchild Madeline. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
