He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Vickers and Eudora Pope Vickers; his former wife Anna Faye Wall Vickers; his wife Marguerite Rowell Vickers; his sons, Van Vickers and Stan Vickers; his sisters, LouNell V. Matthews and Willa Mae V. Baker; his half-sister Bonnie V. McDonald; and his brother Wiley Vickers.
He is survived by: his children, Jan Thurston of Douglas, Tracie Vickers of Douglas and Ray Roberts of Axson, Georgia; his grandchildren, Scott Vickers, Shelley Whitley, Caleb Vickers, Brady Roberts, Leah Roberts, Lerah Roberts, Christopher Vickers and Brandon Spinks; and his half-siblings, Vicky Giddens, Richard Vickers and Wendell Vickers.
