He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley Griffin Chambless and Nancy Kirksey Chambless; his siblings, Ree Goode, Mary McPherson Goolsby, Willie Chambless, Wylie "Doc" Chambless, Clarence Chambless, George Chambless and Belle Cannon; his former wife Cleo Alligood Chambless; his wife Signa Belveal Chambless; and his son Michael Anthony Chambless.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Angela Berry of Dawson and Cindy Bowers (Wayne) of Americus; his granddaughters, Amber Chambless Withers of Ellaville and Becky Chambless Blanchard of Tifton; and his stepgrandchildren, Branden Roberts (Becca) of Leesburg and Anna Roberts of Americus. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.
