He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Banks and Ola Banks; his former wife Juanita Hayes Banks; his wife Faye Banks; his children, Tony Johnson and Cindy Ensley; and his brothers, Donny Banks and Arnold Lee Banks.

He is survived by: his children, Chris Banks (Shannon) of Dalton, GA, Mike Johnson of Winder, GA, Michelle Seawright (Jody) of Statham, GA, Lisa Ledford (Alan) of Dalton, GA and Terri Jones of Statham, GA; his son-in-law Evans Ensley of Ellijay, GA; his siblings, D. L. Banks (Wilma), Virginia Wyatt (Jackie) and Margaret Weathers (Johnny); and his grandchildren, Adam Banks (Mandy), Matthew Banks (Lindsay), Emily Beard (Klayton), Carli, Cole Ledford, Jodi Johnson, Dustin Seawright, Riley Seawright, Jake Ruark, Peyton Seawright and Ashleigh Willoughby (Billy Joe). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
