He was predeceased by: his wife Margie Cleo James; his son Joseph "Jo Jo" Franklin James; and his siblings, Frankie James, Mable Bright, Voncelle Jenkins and Elise Brewer.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Gentry of Dallas and Jeff; his daughter-in-law Tania James of Acworth; his son Jerry James of Dallas; his sisters, Zandra Turner and Yvonne Becker; and his grandchildren, Stephanie (Justinas), Sydney, Dylan and Miranda.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Butch's name to the care and upkeep of Davis Cemetery and Chapel, care of Jan Ros, 1737 Patriots Way, Kennesaw, GA 30152.
