He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred L. Whitaker and Leta M. Gulley Whitaker; his wife Eula Mae Hicks Whitaker; his son Steve Whitaker; and his granddaughter Tina Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Betty Youmans (Terry), Patty Carroll, Wanda Conner (Barry), Billy Whitaker (Vickie), Kenny Whitaker (Cathy), Sandy Christy (Dave) and Charlotte Devore (Chip); and his siblings, Jean Evans and Troy Whitaker (Bonnie). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
