It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Walter Owen Griswell of Cornelia, Georgia, who passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Griswell and Louise Owen Griswell; his former wife Lavonia Lee Bishop Griswell; his son Alan Griswell; and his son-in-law Rodney Holden.
He is survived by: his wife Lena Marlow Griswell; his son Guy; his daughter-in-law Jan Griswell of Toccoa, GA; his daughters, Gale (David Little) and Margaret Holden of Buford, GA; and his grandchildren, Andrea, Lee Chitwood, Staci, Mark Dean, Joy Guzman, Jason, Tiffany Holden, Christopher and Ashley Little. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Calendar McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home (175 VFW Rd, Cornelia, GA 30531). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Crestlawn Memorial Park.
