He is survived by: his friend Pastor Gerald Horne; his former wife Linda Benton Lodge of Pelham; his children, Ralph Benton Jr. (Sonja) of Moultrie, Randy Benton of Thomasville and Penny Redmond (John) of Meigs; his grandchildren, Trey Benton (Ansley) of Jamie Benton, J. R, Blake Jenkins (Kendra), Cody Jenkins and Logan Redmond; and his sister Ruth Benton of Thomasville. He is also survived by married to for 46 years and raised three children.
