She was predeceased by: her parents, Onnie McCannon and Mae Bell Porterfield McCannon; her former husband J. M. Holloman; her grandson Jason Dickerson; and her brothers, Mell and Marshall McCannon.
She is survived by: her husband James A. Gunnells; her daughter Gail; her son-in-law Sammy Dickerson of Elberton; her granddaughter Kellie (Michael McCauley) of Dallas, GA; her brother Rufus "Mac" McCannon of Colbert; and her sister-in-law Catherine McCannon of Hull. She is also survived by four great grandchildren.
