He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy M. Patterson and Nettie Lou Moon Patterson; his son Matthew Patterson; and his siblings, James Patterson, Dairlette Patton, Lucy McCullough and Jean Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Patterson; his son Marc Patterson (Carla); his brother Terry Patterson (Cheryl); and his grandson Jamie Patterson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
