He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas Carpenter and Catherine "Webb" Carpenter; his wife Mildred Carpenter; his son Joshua Carpenter; and his siblings, Cynthia Dooley and Shirley Carpenter.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Smith and David Webb; his grandchildren, Hailey, Jackson, Cameron and Isabella Smith; and his siblings, Mike Carpenter, Geraldine Rich, Morris Carpenter, Randy Carpenter, Timmy Carpenter and Gail Williamson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
