He is survived by: his wife Arline Mateyak McWhinney of Clarkesville, GA; his sons, William "Bill" McWhinney of Port St and Phillip McWhinney of John's Creek, GA; and his grandchildren, Sean McWhinney, James McWhinney, Kylie Quinn and Dana Iarriccio. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, & friends.
