He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Gilbert and Vera Roland Gilbert; his wife Annie Ruth Gilbert; and his sons, Mark Gilbert and Joey Gilbert.
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Gilbert (Donna) and Johnny Gilbert (Pamela) of Chester; and his siblings, Burney Gilbert (Christine Stone) of Chester, Jan Brown (David) of Cochran and Judy Mullis (Ed) of Rentz. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
