He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Elrod of Chatsworth; his sons, Tommie (Shelia Elrod) and Terry (Kathy Elrod); his sisters, Geneva Elrod of Chatsworth and Nina Long of Blueridge; and his grandson Cody Lee (Hannah Elrod).
