He was predeceased by: his father Rufus Eugene Prater, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Willie Winona Bennett Prater of Douglasville; and his siblings, Willie Jean Brumbelow of Rockmart, Patricia Ann (Mike Renova), Linda S. (Ignacio Tapia), John Wes Prater of Carrollton, Wanda Jane (Frank Williams) and Hope (Marty Menne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
