He was predeceased by: his parents, H. D. Swafford and Ina George Swafford; his wife Lynn Thompson Swofford; and his siblings, Charles E. Swafford, Herschel Lee Swafford and Glenda Swafford Finley.
He is survived by: his brother Eddie Swafford of Hiram, Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
